Overview

In this project, I led comprehensive UX research and testing using platforms like Usertesting.com. I crafted the information architecture for both iOS and Android apps, ensuring intuitive navigation.

Leveraging tools like Figma and Sketch, I developed wireframes and high-fidelity mockups, focusing on interaction design to enhance user engagement. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, including product teams, engineers, and QAs, we iteratively refined the user experience.

Throughout, we employed diverse metrics to analyze and drive continuous improvement in usability and functionality.

Key Results

  • Rating: 4.8 Stars on iOS App Store / 1.5K Reviews (as of Dec 14, 2020)

  • 1M+ download/mo, 1M+ monthly visits for iPhone and Android.

Augmented Reality Feature and Onboarding Design

I meticulously crafted a series of hand-drawn illustrations to introduce users to the augmented reality feature and highlight critical UI elements within the interface.

These custom illustrations were designed to enhance the user experience and provide clear guidance to users as they navigate through the app.

The AR feature revolutionizes the home search experience. Imagine strolling down the street, effortlessly viewing the value of nearby homes or pinpointing the For Sale property you seek just by glancing through your phone.

During the design and testing phase, we ventured outside, exploring the streets of Downtown Bellevue and Irvine California, witnessing firsthand the wonder our technology brings to life.

Search and Results Experience

Search and discovery represent pivotal components of the app's user experience, enabling users to efficiently locate their ideal property, whether it's a dream home, commercial space, or land. Utilizing map or list views, along with intuitive filters and detailed listing pages, users can navigate seamlessly through the platform.

Through meticulous user journey exercises and usability studies, I observed that approximately 80% of users engage in a specific sequence: they begin by searching for properties using filters, review an average of 81 homes before reaching out to an agent, save around 36 homes, and share approximately 18 with friends and family.

To ensure optimal design decisions, I conducted an extensive competitive analysis and gap assessment within the real estate sector. I sought to identify and leverage the most effective design paradigms or create new ones where necessary.

Experimentation with various elements such as Google Map colors, control placement, card layouts, and call-to-action (CTA) positioning was crucial. I conducted numerous UX tests and engaged in face-to-face studies at locations like Starbucks to validate my design choices both during the app's development and after its launch.
